I spent Saturday evening with an easy 6 km run wiyth Kong around the housing estates in Klang. It was quite hot but the easy pace (40 min for 6 km) helped to make to the run tolerable and enjoyable.
Sunday was my usual 20 km run at Lake Garden to Sri Hartamas. It rained heavily since 4.00 am and it was still raining as I drove along the Federal highway to then Bukit Aman car park. For a while, I though of cancelling but I was hoping it will be raining at the Lake Garden. I was mistaken, there was a drizzle but it stopped at about 6.00 am.
It was a bit cold and windy when Yong and I started our run at 6.10 am. There were about 20 runners or so much fewer than last week. It was quite pleasant and comfortable to run in a colder and windy conditions compared to the usual sitfling warm and humid conditions.
We took the usual route along Bukit Tunku and then to Sri Hartamas Road. We reached Sri the Petronas station in Sri Hartamas in 1 hr 2 minutes. A brief stop for a drink and then started our run back to Lake Garden. Soon a few of the faster runners (Adam, Thomas etc) overtook us but never mind, it's not a race and they were better runners than us anyway.
We reached Lake Gardens in about 1 hr 3 minutes. My legs were a bit sore but my left ankle was OK - I wore an ankle brace. We had a drink at the stall and wrap it up by 9.00 am.
It was another satisfactory long run for me although it never gets any easier each time. One last long run next weekend and by then I hope to be ready for the Putrajaya half marathon.
