Despite a sprainked left ankle, it improved sufficiently over Monday and Tuesday allowing me to run at KLCC park on Wednesday. I first ran 2 laps with Jamie, Ronnie and Kenneth. Later I ran with Kenneth for 2 more laps. The ankle was still painful so I stopped after the 4th lap (5.2 km). When we finished our runs, we sat at the Bench to relax and chat. There was another group running a bit later. You can see the photos in Tey's photo album (KLCC). The day was memorable because of the heat but fortunately we were graced by the presence of Princess Lisa.
Yesterday I also ran at KLCC park although there was still a bit of pain on my left ankle. Ran with Yong for about 3-1/2 laps (7 min 30 sec per lap), became tired and dropped out at the 600 m mark. Drank water , stretched and rejoin Yong from the 600 mark until 1300 m. Other than the two of us, no one familiar was running at KLCC park.
My left ankle should be OK by Saturday. My right knee has improved but it seems to be getting worse over the past one week whereas it was healing over the past 1 month. So from now on, I have to keep training distances low (5.2 - 6.5 km) and less frequent (4 times a week). I am really focusing my training to run the 2 half marathons in September. Hence, being able to do long runs on Sunday (20 km) will be more important than my shorter weekday runs.
I have registered for 2 races in September; Putrajaya (21 km - 11 Sept.), PJ half marathon (18 Sept.) and Shah Alam 10 km (25 Sept). They will me my last races for the next 2 months until possibly KRI's Ipoh (20 Nov. ) and Singapore on 4th Dec 2005.
