The haze is back !. Saw it on the news tonight - the haze will hit Malaysia for about one week. All because of the Indonesians who cannot get their act together and stop the burning of tree & plants in Sumatra. I can't entirely blame them as some of the palm oil plantations in Sumatra are owned by Malaysian companies. When there is no enforcement, let's flout the law says the plantation manager manager.
This evening I went out to KLCC to run but the air was thick with smoke. Terrible but since I was already there I ran anyway. As I was stretching at the "start" line, two diehard runners (Nordin & Faizal) passed by, Faizal said "Not enough oxygen". I 'll find out soon enough about this when I start running.
Just 400 m into the run, it was apparent the air quality was very bad. I could feel the smoke particles going inside my lungs. I saw Jamie walking by at the 500 m mark. He was not running today but I was - stupid me!
Despite the haze, I was running fast and well but at the 800 m mark, I decided to abandon the run. The haze could be really hazardous . I checked my lap time at the 1.3 km mark - 6 min 58 seconds. Afterwards, I ran on the treadmill in the gym for about 29 minutes (5 km).
It looks like this Blog will not be updated for another week. I have to go to Dubai this Thursday and will only be back on Friday next week. One week without running is too much so I will be carrying my running shoes this time , unlike my trip to London.
It is unlikely I will be running in the open. It is very hot now in the Middle East . Check out this link.
At 6.00 pm, the temperature in Dubai is 38 deg. C

Have a safe trip. If not mistaken you can do nite running there as the desert air is cool - can drop from 15C to single digit! Perhaps 9 or 10pm just before you knock off for the nite would be a good time. Looking fwd to some photos, if u do nite running!
Thanks
I've checked the lowest temp in Dubai too-it is about 30 deg. C . I guess about the hottest day at KLCC park. I have asked the secretary to check the hotels for treadmills.
Good to train with the camels once at while...hehehe!
Hv a good trip! Please check out their marathon races. Understand they hv one in early of the year.
