This Sunday there will a race in the city; Larian Mesra Rakan Cop or more known as the Cop (police) Race.I've been looking forward to this race since March for several reasons:
- The chance to run a race in the city (Kuala Lumpur) which is normally clogged with vehicles.
- Every one I know is going to run in the race (except the triathletes going to the A'Formosa Triathlon).
- This will be my only road race in April.
But the most important reason is I want to run with the cops. But not the male cops. You see, the police have an athletic club. This race will be the rare ocassion where there will be many Malay female runners.
The good thing is they are serious runners from the police club. They will be wearing professional running attire. This means shorts hopefully very SHORT shorts. Malay girls wearing shorts ! I think I've only came across in 5 years of running at KLCC, two Malay girls wearing shorts. It's against the religious principles but if there are Malay girls who want to wear shorts, I am not complaining!.
Instead of going to the Cop race, I will be at Genting Highlands in a team building workshop. I've been to one these and in my opinion, they are a waste of time. Can one improve teamwork over 1 and 1/2 day session? Realistically, it takes several months of trust and good relationship to get good teamwork.
I think I will let out my frustation on Sunday morning by running a few kms at Genting Highlands. I hope the Saturday night workshop program will finish before 10.00 pm.
