Thursday's Run at KLCC

I have a horror story to tell. Yesterday I stepped on the weighing scale at The Sweat Club. It read "61 kg". S*%t!

61 kilogram is just one kilo short of my weight way back in year 2000. Back then, I had only been running for about 6 months and I weighed about 62 kg. After a lot of effort and by increasing my daily run from 4 to 6 km, I managed to get my weight down to 56 kg. Now, six years later I am back to where I was.

To make it worst, due my permanent knee injury there is no way I would be able to run very far. Yesterday I managed to run about 2.6 km (2 laps) at KLCC. I could feel my right thigh and leg bones crunching against each other. I had to stop after 2 laps with a very sore knee.

How am I going to lose 5 kg ? Dieting is my only hope now.

Hi Rohaizad,
Long time no see but at least we get to keep in touch through the wonders of the internet, through your blog. 61kgs isn't much, lah. Granted, you weight more than you used to but it isn't exactly in the obese category. haha.

Dieting may be one way to lose weight but perhaps with the knee pain, you may want to consider other non/low-impact cardio activities to maintain your cardio fitness and keep your weight down. I remember you mentioning that you were a member of a gym, right? Cycling, eliptical trainer, stepper machines could provide a useful alternative to running. How about brisk walking? Still, nothing beats running the outdoors.

Take care and see you around.
