Last night I attended the SMSS (Selangor Menengah Sains Selangor - Selangor Science High School) Alumni 2005. The theme was Suatu Masa (Once upon a time) colourfully carefree. That is quite a good description of the our time at SMSS.
The event was well attended by more than 700 former student students of SMSS. For information, the former students are referred to as batches linked to the 5th form. For most of us, the 5th form is the last year we spent at SMSS.
SMSS is fully residential boarding school where we spend close to 9 months out a year studying and living with each other. For many of us, these were formative years which made us the individuals we are today. We came to the school when we were still young , 12-13 years to attend form 1. For the next five years, we studied, lived together and shared unique common experiences.
For the 2005, dinner, about 20 persons from batch 81 (my batch) attended the dinner. I won't write much about the dinner itself but after seeing my old school friends, I think what we went through during our school days should be put on record lest they are forgotten.
Some of my future blog entries will be about those colourfully carefree days between 1977 to 1981 at SMSS.
