Nowadays there are more female runners running regularly at KLCC. It is a good thing for us, male runners to see more female runners at KLCC.
Back in 1999, when I started running at KLCC, there were only 3 female runners. One was a Malay girl who wore a a half top T-shirt, a rare sight anywhere in Malaysia. In my first Penang Bridge run in 1999, she actually overtook me despite starting 15 minutes later. I haven't seen her since 2002 so I guess she has moved somewhere else.
Another runner is Ms Lee, a veteran athlete who used to run for Malaysia. She no longer trains at KLCC. I am not where she is now as I have not seen in races over the past 3 years.
There was another female runner, Connie. She usually ran quite late, starting at about 7.00 pm. I heard she was married in 2003, became pregnant and retired fro running. Too bad as she was a good runner.
For us, the male runners, female runners are welcomed as it gives us the chance to run with others besides the regulars runners (mostly guys). There were times when I kept going because I was running with a female runner. There were also times when I indulged and maybe looked a little longer (stared, I have to admit) at the more attractive female runners.
Hurray for the female runners at KLCC!
