Run at KLCC on Thursday

Fortunately it did not rain Thursday evening but it was blazing hot. So I waited until 6.00 pm before I walked to KLCC park. At the starting mark I saw Yong. I have not seen him for five weeks and was glad I could pace with him today. He looked to be in great shape. We started to run together. Again I had the same problem with my running form - movement was too stiff. The first lap pace was quite slow: 7 min 40 sec.

Came across Jamie and Newton on the second lap. I was doing OK running at the slow pace until the 3rd lap when I became tired and started to struggle a bit. At the 600m mark of 4th lap, I saw Ng doing his stretching exercises. My breathing started to become uneven at this point. Told Yong I would be stopping at this lap. He tried to encourage me to keep going but I've had enough. I stopped at the end of the 4th lap after 5.2 km. I did not make the target distance of 6.5 km. Felt quite tired after the run. Time for three laps : 23 min. 18 sec; average per lap: 7 min. 46 seconds.

So far, I have discern the following problems:-
  • Running form not very smooth due to stiff movement of arms and legs.
  • Ocassional uneven breathing exercebated by poor running form.
  • Possibly improper body poisture - boby leaning forward too much.

I have to work on and solve these problems over the next few days. My endurance has not yet recovered to what it was before the fasting month (Used to run 6-8 laps at 7 min. 10 sec). It will be a 4-6 weeks more before this will happen.

Today when I woke up with a strained left hamstring muscle but if the sunny weather still holds this evening, will run.
